thousands of hours on the street and on the telephone as well as on the
radio and television sharing the truth about homosexuality and debating
the homosexual movement's champions. He has amassed a considerable array
of literature from the homosexual community, including from dozens of
so-called "gay Christian" groups. Answering Sodom
equips the reader to deal with the many theological deceptions being
peddled by the homosexual movement, including a number of prominent
clergymen.
This book also lays waste to the many rhetorical
subterfuges used by Sodom's apologists to brainwash the ill-informed and
to shame those opposing sexual perversion into silence. Throughout Answering
Sodom, Ralph Ovadal works in a number of interesting anecdotes and
first-hand experiences he has had contesting for the truth against
sodomite apologists; and he brings a historical perspective to play as
well. The chapter "Friendly Fire" exposes the flawed, unbiblical
presuppositions many well-meaning Christian leaders espouse, such as
"just no special rights" and "all sins are the same,"
while the last chapter of the book gives the reader a solid legal and
constitutional perspective on the issue of homosexuality.
Combining experience and research, Biblical and
constitutional knowledge, along with some preaching and exhortation, Ralph
Ovadal has written a unique, enjoyable book which is sure to open many

Author's Comments
In September of 1996, I received a phone call from the
Dane County, Wisconsin District Attorney's office. That one phone call, as
much as any other experience I have ever had, demonstrates the urgent need
for Christians to stand up against the homosexual movement before it is
too late.
On May 1, 1996, I had been attacked from behind and
knocked unconscious as I had stood, Bible in hand, handing out
"anti-gay" literature in front of a public (government)
elementary school in Madison, Wisconsin which was hosting a pictorial
display of "gay and lesbian families." The person who had
assaulted me had not appreciated my ministry and made his opinion plain by
leaving me with a swollen ear, cuts and contusions to the side of my head,
a pounding headache, and a badly wrenched knee and ankle. Police arriving
on the scene had arrested the man and charged him with substantial battery
for what they had called a life-threatening act.
The call I referred to earlier came one day before my
assailant was due to go on trial. An assistant district attorney
cheerfully informed me that my presence would not be needed at the trial
because it had been called off! Indeed, I was told that since my attacker
"does not want a criminal record," the charge against him would
be dropped to an ordinance violation as long as he was willing to pay my
medical bills! The sad part of the whole episode is that I was not the
least bit surprised by the sordid affair.
While much of the body of Christ has slept, sodomites
and their supporters have inched their way into positions of influence in
virtually every American institution. We have now arrived at a place where
a man who responds with any measure of force to the lewd advances of a
sodomite may well be charged not only with battery, but also with a hate
crime in many states. Meanwhile, a champion of homosexuality can brutally
attack a Christian pastor and get off with the equivalent of a traffic
ticket. What this tells us is that there is a form of fascism afoot in
America, a form of fascism which threatens the well-being and liberty of
every moral man, woman, and child in this nation--especially those who
love the Lord and His eternal precepts. A fascist beast is on the loose, a
beast which must be met head-on and pushed back into the dark lair from
whence it came before it gains so much strength that it will completely
overwhelm all opposition.
Over the years, I have felt the fury of the homosexual
movement, via both physical attacks and hundreds of threats. I have seen
the rage that a simple gospel message of repentance and rebirth can kindle
in the hard-core sodomite's heart. My testimony to those with ears to hear
is that a fascist heart beats in the bosom of America's very dangerous
homosexual movement. Yet this is no excuse to draw back or to mute the
gospel in the face of the "gay" brown shirts. Quite the
opposite. Though the sodomites may rage and gnash their teeth, this is no
time to be timid. Winston Churchill captured the folly of co-existing with
tyranny in the vain hope that somehow the wicked will all see the error of
their ways or perhaps will be willing to live peacefully side-by-side with
the righteous. Churchill wrote: "If you will not fight
when you can easily win without blood shed, and if you will not fight when
your victory will be sure and not so costly, then you may come to the time
when you will have to fight with all of the odds against you and only a
slight chance for survival. There may be a worse case though. You may have
to fight when there is no chance of victory because it is better to perish
than to live as slaves."
I have written Answering Sodom for the same
reason that I dedicate a great deal of my time to fighting the homosexual
movement: I perceived an urgent need and felt a clear call from the Lord.
I pray this book will contribute to the cause of Christ. I pray it will be
a great asset to His people by equipping them to fight the good fight
against a movement from hell, even as they pray and work to snatch members
of that movement from a fiery eternity and see them brought into God's
heavenly kingdom. |
