What the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality

Homosexuality: The Truth

  August 19, 2000
Back to Mazo

On August 19, WCU hit Mazo beach again. This action came only eight days after a Madison judge found Pastor Ralph Ovadal guilty on a disorderly conduct charge, in part because he used such words as sinners, homosexual, and pedophile when preaching at Mazo beach last August 28,1999. On this day, over 125 Christians with WCU spread out at about six-foot intervals on both sides of the gravel road leading to the beach, with an even number of quite vocal Christians on both sides. Nudists arriving at the beach were met by roving bands of evangelists in the parking lot; then were forced to walk the "gospel gauntlet"; and after clearing that, contend with a group of evangelists fifty yards down the road. Although police officers on the scene warned Pastor Ovadal and the brethren on hand not to use such words as sinners and homosexuals when preaching, all God's people boldly obeyed Him, not man. In spite of repeated threats, no arrests were made; no children were seen being brought to the beach; and at least one man repented of his sin, took a gospel tract, and left! By the grace of God, this event also received some very good press coverage.
