Today WCU Continues
"Homeland Defense"

"Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;
but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences."
2 Corinthians 5:11

"Since the tragic and despicable terrorist attack upon America, September 11, 2001, there has been much talk about `homeland' defense. I am all for homeland defense against America's foreign enemies. A strong, constitutional policy of homeland defense, including secure borders, a strong military, and a sane immigration policy, is long over due. However, there is another homeland defense that has been long neglected and, in fact, has been badly weakened and almost destroyed by our government. Our homeland has become a haunt for individuals who promote perverse sexual acts, shed innocent blood by abortion, and assault the innocence of children through pornography and `adult entertainment.' Here in Wisconsin, citizens have been forced to pay for a nude beach where hundreds of sexually perverse individuals cavort naked every weekend in full view of the public who use the Wisconsin River. As has been documented, many children, like the girl pictured in this news release, are routinely taken to that beach and displayed naked while in turn being exposed to naked adults, many of whom have been seen taking cameras with them to the beach. In the past, WCU Christians have many times successfully, physically blocked children from being taken to the beach; but those saved from the abuse and defilement of that place have only been a tiny fraction of the number taken there over the course of a summer.

"If our state and nation continue to neglect the defense of morality rooted in biblical absolutes, if state and national officials continue to neglect the defense of the weak and innocent, then there will be no long-term victory in the defense of America's homeland from foreign terrorists any more than there will be a turning away of God's wrath which is surely upon this nation for her sins against Him.

"Today, Wisconsin Christians United will once again be on the parking lot and walk-way leading to the state nude beach at Mazomanie, Wisconsin. We will once again testify against that lewd, crude, despicable place. We will once again speak on behalf of the children being abused there. We will once again preach the gospel of Jesus Christ with those with whom we come in contact. In short, we will be about serving our Lord even as we defend innocent children and the homeland we love. Of course, once again the nudists will hurl abusive language at us and perhaps once again assault some of us. No doubt the Department of Natural Resources law enforcement personnel will once again turn a blind eye to the unlawful acts of the nudists and the plight of the children of Mazo beach while at the same time treating us with contempt and looking for excuses to arrest some of us. So be it; our homeland needs defending."
